According to the requirements for raising the energy efficiency benchmark of key industries, by the end of 2028, the share of capacity meeting the current benchmark in the steel industry, electrolytic aluminum production, cement, flat glass, oil refining, ethylene, synthetic ammonia and methanol production should increase by an average of 20 percentage points.
In coal power, the growth target is 15 percentage points, and below-baseline capacity should be virtually eliminated. The total savings should exceed 100 million tons of fuel equivalent, and the reduction in CO2 emissions should exceed 200 million tons.
Steel, cement and chemical plants are the largest users of industrial motors, so energy-efficient and low-carbon retrofits will encourage the replacement of drive systems with more efficient ones. Demand for high-voltage permanent magnet motors, frequency control systems and intelligent direct drives will continue to grow.
Businesses that proactively develop lines of highly efficient, energy-saving products will have an advantage in this wave of renewal.
